Taste the Pearly Cream
The city''''s popular vegetarian restaurant ''''Cream Centre'''' has a new look Few things in life never go out of style... be it the most reliable, everyday wear Denims, those sparkling diamonds or our local, whet-the-appetite vada-pav, off the road. Securing its place in the same legue is the city''''s 47-year-old, favourite, vegetarian restaurant - Cream Centre at Marine Drive. Known essentially for its high quality service, food and trusted name, this eatery had shut down two months ago in March only to reopen a week back with a rather pleasant surprise. It has been painted white-refurbished,and the most amazing bit is that the prices still remain the same.

"The most heard complaint had always been that the tables were very small,"said the manager."So we decided to take a part of the kitchen into the restaurant, make it more spacious and utilize this extension to the best so that the tables are not confined or cramped anymore. Also we can now join the tables for large groups and families,"he informed. The décor has been revamped, offering a satisfactory ambience with the pearl white and cream walls and fine looking paintings from Singapore. The windows are generously proportioned, as one can view the Queen''''s Necklace with ease. A plasma screen has been placed with a projector, for enthusiasts to enjoy sport and live cricket matches whilst eating. The top floor follows the same format, with a screen fit in the bathroom too!(We don''''t have to miss even a single ball!)"We are striving to do our best. Always trying to please our customers, most of whom have been coming here religiously even before I was born," said the managing partner, Sabina Chona, wife of the proprietor Sanjiv Chona. They also partly own the Blue Food chain in the city.

"In the menu, the traditional and popular items certainly prevail like the much popular chole bhatura, but meal combos, sizzlers and coffees have beeb added. We did not want to increase the price or a a matter of fact, give any reason for complaining to our customers. And what will never change is the logo or the format - we shall always be strictly vegetarian, " She added. The customer''''s response to their new look has been great. In fact, a larger crowd of the younger generation is pouring in as now Cream Centre falls in the category of Bombay Blues, Noodle Bar and Relish, by way of ambience."We''''ll never compromise on our hygiene and quality, as we believe that the more you give the more you get. We want individuals to avail an upmarket experience with competitive prices. And with the opening of so many eateries, all I can say is that competition is always wecome, it keeps everyone on their toes," said Sabina. So, for jus the perfect dinner tonight, head invariable to the "quite missed", worth-the-waiting, all new Cream Centre.
